Young entrepreneur Dalareich Polot was among this year’s recipients of the APEC Business Efficiency and Success Target (BEST) Award given during the Women and the Economy Forum in La Serena, Chile.
Polot, known as Bohol’s “Chocolate Princess”, won the first-ever BEST Award for “Best Family Business Support.”
Polot, general manager of the award-winning Dalareich Chocolate House and chief executive officer of Ginto Chocolates, bested 21 other women entrepreneurs from other Asia-Pacific economies in the newly-launched category.
Polot, who presented her business model via Skype, narrated her romance with cacao and highlighted how her passion for tableya developed over the years beginning when she was a kid.
“THIS IS NOT MY AWARD. I owed this to people who believe and support us all the way. Receiving 3 international awards this year 2019 are all HIS plans. I’m forever grateful,” Polot posted on Facebook.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region VII Director Aster Caberte received Polot’s award on her behalf.
APEC’s BEST Award is the third international award for Dalareich Chocolate House.
Last September, the Academy of Chocolate (AOC) gave Polot’s chocolate house a gold award for their “100% Unsweetened Chocolate” under the “Drinking Chocolate – Plain, for milk-based drinks” category.
