TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol— An old church bell was stolen from the grounds of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Loboc, Bohol, prompting an investigation by police and church officials.

Parish priest Fr. Agerio Paña said they discovered Monday morning that the old, damaged bell, which had been placed beside the parish convent, was missing.

CCTV footage showed two suspects taking the bell at around noon on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, and leaving through the convent gate.

The Loboc police and church officials are investigating the theft.

The parish appealed to antique buyers, collectors and junk shop operators not to buy or accept the bell if it is offered to them, noting that the thieves could break or crush it to prevent identification.

The parish also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information about the stolen church artifact.
