CATIGBIAN, Bohol — Catigbian Mayor Benjie Oliva is offering a ₱100,000 reward for information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the person behind a social media post threatening Haguilanan High School and other schools in neighboring Balilihan town.
Oliva said he learned about the threat Tuesday night through a concerned teacher from Haguilanan High School.
He immediately contacted Catigbian Police Chief PMaj. Jesus Dallin Jr., who initiated an investigation with the police cybercrime unit to identify the person behind the post.
Police personnel were also deployed at Haguilanan High School Wednesday morning as a preventive security measure.
Oliva stressed that he would not take the threat lightly and urged the public to provide authorities with any information that could help identify the person responsible.
He also warned the individual behind the threat that authorities are taking the incident seriously.
The other schools reportedly mentioned in the threat are San Roque National High School, Cong. Pablo Malasarte National High School, and Hanopol National High School in neighboring Balilihan.
