TAGBILARAN CITY— Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado has ordered the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), led by Provincial Director PCol. Patricio Degay Jr., to further tighten security in schools across the province.
The directive came following a shooting incident at a high school in Zamboanga City on Tuesday.
Aumentado instructed police to increase surveillance and police visibility in and around schools while strengthening coordination with school authorities to ensure the safety of students, teachers and school personnel.
“We should not wait for something to happen before we act,” Aumentado said, emphasizing the need for early preparation and preventive measures against possible security threats.
The governor stressed that protecting young people is among the most important responsibilities of authorities and the wider community.
Through closer coordination between police and schools, the provincial government aims to strengthen security measures and prevent possible threats to students and school personnel throughout Bohol.
