TAGBILARAN CITY — A 68-year-old man was found dead after he reportedly fell into a deep pit behind his home in Barangay Bayacabac, Maribojoc, Bohol.
The victim was identified as Raymundo Lasaca, a resident of the area.
According to the initial investigation of the Maribojoc police, the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of Monday, November 24, when Lasaca slipped and fell into the pit. His body was discovered the following afternoon, November 25.
Authorities said Lasaca had come from a drinking session earlier that night. On his way home, he reportedly failed to make it back to his house and instead fell into a seven-foot-deep pit located behind their residence.
Police added that the continuous heavy rains brought by Tropical Depression Verbena may have caused the ground to become slippery, contributing to the victim’s accidental fall.
Investigators found no signs of foul play in Lasaca’s death.
