TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Four local government units (LGUs) have received a total of P3.2 million in prize money for their winning performances in the Sandugo 2026 street dancing and grand showdown last July 26.
The prizes were turned over to the winning contingents following the province-wide cultural competition, which showcased Bohol’s creativity, traditions and performing arts.
Catigbian emerged as the Grand Winner, receiving P1 million, while Loay placed as second runner-up with P700,000.
Dimiao won third runner-up and received P600,000, while Antequera, the fourth runner-up, received P500,000.
Catigbian also took home additional awards, including Best in Street Dancing worth P300,000 and Best in Production Design worth P100,000.
The total prize payout for these awards reached P3.2 million.
Overall, the Sandugo 2026 competitions allocated P35.3 million for all winners and consolation prizes. Other participating contingents may now claim their respective prizes, organizers said.
Meanwhile, the processing of Developmental Project Incentives for participating LGUs is also ongoing.
Organizers, including the Bohol Cultural and Arts Development Council, expressed appreciation to the participating LGUs, performers, choreographers, trainers, organizers and other individuals who contributed to the success of the celebration.
The Sandugo festivities, organizers said, went beyond competition as they highlighted unity, culture, talent and Boholano pride.
