A young artist from Bohol identified as
B Bhie Bunac shows her design for a national costume for Miss Philippines.

She said the costume was inspired by Bohol, known as God’s little paradise that deserves worldwide recognition.

“It’s well known for being the home to the iconic Chocolate Hills and Sanctuaries of tarsiers,” she said on her Facebook post. “This national costume also inspired by the pambansang bulalak🌼 at pambansang dahon🌿 ng pilipinas, ang Sampaguita at Anahaw,” she added.

She said the headdress was also inspired by calamay and alimango, two delicacies in Bohol.

Last October, Bunac shared her version of a national costume Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez.

It was inspired by “Ibong Adarna.”

“Perhaps the color I used also suits her because she is also one of the members of the LGBTQ Community,” she said.

“And the crown👑 on her head symbolizes the sun of our flag🇵🇭 and the three stars symbolize the three islands of the philippines. All of that symbolizes the characteristics of an LGBTQ members. That we give colors and sunshine to everyone,” she added.

The national costume competition in beauty pageants like Miss Universe and Miss World allows designers to push their creativity and go over the top.
