LOON, Bohol — The municipality of Loon is reviving one of its most anticipated pageants as screening officially opens for Miss Loon – SidlaKasilak 2026, marking the return of the prestigious competition after a long hiatus.
The revival of the pageant is being spearheaded by the local government under the leadership of Mayor Dr. Cesar Tomas “Yul” Lopez, who said the event aims to celebrate the beauty, intelligence, confidence, and cultural pride of young Loonanons while promoting youth empowerment, tourism, and cultural preservation.
More than a beauty competition, Miss Loon – SidlaKasilak 2026 seeks to provide a platform for young women to become ambassadors of the municipality’s rich heritage, values, and aspirations. Organizers said the pageant highlights leadership, community service, and the role of women in inspiring future generations.
The screening will be held on July 25, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Loon Municipal Hall Activity Center. Applicants are required to wear a casual dress in either black or white.
To qualify, applicants must be between 17 and 25 years old, single, never married, and never been pregnant. They must either be residents of the barangay they will represent or have family roots there, as certified by the barangay.
Candidates must also be at least 5 feet 2 inches tall (barefoot) and possess good moral character.
The local government is encouraging qualified young women from all barangays in Loon to participate in what it describes as a celebration of the empowered Loonanon woman—one who embodies grace, purpose, intelligence, leadership, and a genuine commitment to serving the community.
With the return of the crown, the municipality of Loon hopes to continue the legacy of a pageant that showcases not only beauty but also the character and aspirations of the women of Loon.
