13-year-old boy dies from suspected electrocution while charging cellphone in Bohol

SIKATUNA, Bohol — A 13-year-old boy died after he was allegedly electrocuted while charging his cellphone inside his bedroom in Barangay Cambuac Sur, Sikatuna, Bohol, on Wednesday evening.

The victim, identified only by the alias “Gerry,” was found unconscious by his mother after she heard an unusual sound coming from his room, according to an initial investigation by the Sikatuna Municipal Police Station.

His family immediately attempted to revive him by administering first aid before calling for an ambulance. However, the boy was later declared dead.

Police believe the victim may have been electrocuted through an extension wire while charging his cellphone as he lay in bed.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police reminded the public to exercise caution when using electrical devices and extension cords, especially while charging electronic gadgets indoors.
