TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), in partnership with local Masonic organizations, conducted a community outreach program benefiting tricycle drivers as part of the celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day on June 12.
The joint community outreach activity was spearheaded by the BPPO through its Police Community Affairs and Development Unit under the leadership of Lt. Col. Joseph Berondo.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Dagohoy Masonic Lodge No. 84, Panglao Masonic Lodge No. 486, and the Order of the Eastern Star Kinampay Chapter No. 26 at CPG North in Tagbilaran City.
During the activity, 200 tricycle drivers received three liters of free gasoline each to help ease the burden of rising fuel costs.
In addition, the first 50 beneficiaries were given packed meals as a gesture of appreciation for their service to the community.
Recipients expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying it provided much-needed relief amid increasing fuel prices and the growing cost of daily necessities.
Organizers said the outreach activity highlighted the importance of supporting workers in the transportation sector, whose services are essential to the public.
The partnership between the Philippine National Police and the Masonic organizations also underscored the value of cooperation and community service in promoting the spirit of freedom and nation-building.
Officials noted that through collaborative efforts and genuine public service, communities can further strengthen the ideals of independence, unity, and shared responsibility that continue to guide the nation’s progress.
