TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol Light Company, Inc. announced lower electricity rates for residential and commercial consumers for the May 2026 billing period following a reduction in generation charges.
In an advisory, Bohol Light said residential consumers will pay P10.5081 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), while commercial consumers will be charged P9.9291/kWh.
The updated rates reflect a P2.0068/kWh decrease compared to the April 2026 billing period.
According to the power distributor, the reduction was primarily driven by lower generation and transmission charges, reduced line rental costs, and the suspension of the Green Energy Auction Allowance (GEA-ALL) charge for the May and June 2026 billing periods as directed by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
Bohol Light said the lower rates are expected to ease the financial burden on consumers amid continuing economic challenges.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and reliable service by regularly informing consumers of monthly rate adjustments and billing updates.
