BILAR, Bohol — Four women were injured after they fell from a carnival ride during a town fair in the municipality of Bilar late Sunday night, May 17, 2026.
According to the police investigation, the victims were riding a fair attraction called “SpongeBob” when the ride reportedly tilted, causing them to fall at around 10 p.m.
The injured passengers were immediately rescued and brought to a local health center for treatment after sustaining bruises and minor injuries.
Initial investigation revealed that the victims were allegedly standing and taking selfies while the ride was still operating, which authorities believe may have contributed to the accident.
Police said witnesses claimed the passengers continued to stand and move around despite the ride already running, causing the ride to tilt.
Authorities also disclosed that the passengers had reportedly been warned earlier about their actions, but they allegedly ignored the warning, which eventually resulted in the incident.
Police are continuing their investigation into the accident.
