TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol 2nd district Representative Vanessa “Van-van” Aumentado announced that she will distribute maternity kits to mothers giving birth in May as part of her birthday-month outreach initiative.
In a social media post, Aumentado said the gifts will be personally funded and will be distributed during her visits to hospitals in Bohol’s Second District and at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center.
“May is my birth month. I want to give gifts again to mothers who will give birth during the month of May,” Aumentado said.
The lawmaker said each maternity kit will include a stroller, three baby onesies, hotdog pillows, diapers, wipes, and a grooming kit containing a nail cutter, nasal aspirator, medicine dropper, and scissors.
Aumentado recalled that in previous years, she also organized raffle activities for pregnant women, including grocery shopping assistance at Alturas Group of Companies in Talibon.
She added that if there are remaining maternity kits after the hospital distribution, the extra items may be raffled off through Facebook to mothers who follow her page, regardless of their district.
The representative encouraged supporters to stay active on her social media page and prepare their “Top Fan” badges for the possible online raffle.
