TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado announced that a chartered direct flight from Tokyo, Japan to Bohol is scheduled on May 2, 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening the province’s international tourism linkages.
The flight will be operated by Cebu Pacific in coordination with stakeholders from Bohol and Japan, along with the Department of Tourism.
Aumentado said the development is a result of the province’s business and tourism mission to Japan in September 2025, which aimed to enhance global tourism partnerships and expand Bohol’s market reach.
He described the charter flight as a key move toward making direct air connectivity between Japan and Bohol a regular service through the Bohol–Panglao International Airport.
“This presents a huge opportunity for our tourism, economy, and livelihoods of Boholanos—from increased tourist arrivals and job generation to stronger businesses and partnerships,” Aumentado said.
The governor added that improved international access will help showcase Bohol’s natural attractions to a wider global audience while further integrating the province into the international tourism market.
