TAGBILARAN CITY — City officials have imposed time limits on Saulog Street Dancing rehearsals after residents of Barangay San Isidro complained of late-night noise that reportedly stretched past midnight.

Former provincial administrator Alfonso “Ae” Damalerio raised the concern in a Facebook post, saying rehearsals were still ongoing at around 12:20 a.m., causing disturbance to nearby households.

Damalerio clarified that residents support the Saulog celebration but are appealing for more reasonable rehearsal schedules.

“Practices that run until dawn are already disrupting the rest of families in the area,” he said.

City Administrator Alvin Acuzar said barangay officials have been directed to lower sound systems by 10 p.m. and ensure all rehearsals stop by midnight.

He apologized to affected residents and said the city had considered daytime rehearsals, but participants preferred evening schedules due to the heat.

Residents are calling for stricter implementation of the rules as preparations continue for the Saulog Street Dancing competition set on April 26, 2026.
