TAGBILARAN CITY— Twelve units of mechanical ventilators were formally turned over to the Province of Bohol on Friday, March 20, 2026, under the Medical Equipment Donation Program of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
The ceremonial turnover was held at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Provincial Capitol, attended by provincial officials, health authorities, and representatives from PCSO.
The donation forms part of PCSO’s continuing assistance program aimed at strengthening the capabilities of government hospitals across the country, particularly in improving critical care services. Procurement records earlier this year confirm that 12 ventilator units were allocated for donation to Bohol.
Leading the ceremony was PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles, who delivered a special message highlighting the agency’s commitment to public health.
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado gave the response message, expressing gratitude for the support to the province’s healthcare system.
Dr. Emma Perpetua Cahatol, hospital division head of the Provincial Health Office, delivered the welcome remarks.
The ventilators will benefit several government hospitals in Bohol, including:
Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon
Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital in Jagna
Cong. Simeon G. Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen
Catigbian District Hospital in Catigbian
Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital in Inabanga
The activity included the signing of the deed of donation and a ceremonial turnover, followed by a photo opportunity with beneficiaries.
Local officials said the additional ventilators are expected to enhance the province’s capacity to handle severe and critical cases, particularly in district and provincial hospitals serving rural communities
