The candidates had the opportunity to showcase their personalities and talk about their advocacies to invited media practitioners, giving them a glimpse of what they can offer if crowned as Miss Bohol.

Veteran journalists and other media personalities had the opportunity to converse with the delegates, asking each girl two questions. The questions covered topics including personal lives, philosophies, advocacies, and preparations for their pageant journey.

The candidates are Angel Joyce Amper (Anda), Angel Ann Calimbayan (Dauis), Aaliyah Izza Sebumpan (Duero), Carl Joellie Tentativa (Garcia Hernandez), Marielle Igcalinos (Guindulman), Elah Lagrido (Jagna), Earlgen Bucog (Loboc), Jacel Joy Argawanon (Pilar), Nikah Isabelle Bagsac (San Isidro), Michelle Mae Cabagnot (Sevilla), Airah Kim Deguinon (Sikatuna), Flaviona Joaquin (Tagbilaran City), Nikki Lofranco (Talibon), Mariel Dianne Ybanez (Tubigon), Kathline Faith Siason (Ubay) and Dhanica Faith Doldolia (Valencia).

The meet with the press event is one of the significant activities that the candidates underwent as they vie to be the new ambassadress of the eco-cultural tourism province.

After their interviews, the invited media men were given the chance to vote for the Top 3 for the Darling of the Press Award, a special award for the candidate who they found possessed poise, personality, and eloquence.

Ana Loinda Saluan, the co-chair of the Miss Bohol pageant, welcomed the attendees.

Miss Bohol 2000 Mellanie Wallace shared her experiences and tips in joining a beauty pageant, along with the second district Rep. Maria Vanessa Aumentado, who was crowned Miss Bohol in 2001.

In the running for the award’s top spot are Miss Garcia Hernandez- Carl Joellie Tentativa, Tagbilaran City- Flaviona Joaquin, and Guindulman’s Marielle Igcalinos. The winner will be announced during the coronation night on July 12 at the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium.

Aside from the highly anticipated coronation night, the contestants will showcase their themed costumes, which represent their local government unit, its culture, and history. These costumes are designed by local designers from Bohol and will be featured in the 3rd season of the Boholana Iconic Design Competition. This will take place on July 7 at the Jagna Cultural Center.

The 98th run of the Miss Bohol Pageant is one of the highlights of this year’s bigger, bolder, and new Sandugo sa Bohol celebration, under the ‘Bibo’ stream, aligned with Governor Aris Aumentado’s Strategic Change Agenda and ABante vision, showcasing Bohol’s culture and heritage in various activities.
