SIKATUNA, Bohol — The management of D’Wonders of the World and Botanical Garden has issued an official statement addressing concerns raised in a recent online post involving an individual claiming to act as a tour guide, clarifying its policies and denying allegations circulating on social media.
In a statement released Wednesday, March 18, the management apologized for any inconvenience experienced by the individual and stressed that it takes guest feedback and concerns seriously.
The tourist destination also clarified that it is a privately managed establishment, noting that policies and guidelines are implemented to maintain safety, order, and the overall visitor experience inside the park.
One of the claims addressed by the management involved the alleged P30 umbrella rental fee, which it said was inaccurate. According to the statement, umbrellas are available for rent for P15 each, and the service is optional for guests.
The management added that during rainy weather, staff members also assist visitors who may be stranded by sudden downpours by helping them reach sheltered areas such as benches and restaurant facilities within the park.
The establishment also clarified its entry policy, stating that access to the park is limited to ticketed guests, accredited tourist drivers accompanying visitors, and tour guides accredited by the Department of Tourism.
DOT-accredited tour guides may be granted complimentary access upon presentation and verification of their accreditation, the management said, encouraging individuals who wish to avail of the privilege to secure proper accreditation from the tourism agency.
Meanwhile, the management advised individuals who are not entering the park to use restroom facilities located outside the premises. It noted that while suggestions regarding public restrooms are acknowledged, the responsibility for establishing and maintaining such facilities lies with the local government unit of Sikatuna, which collects environmental fees intended to support municipal services.
The company also warned against the spread of false and malicious information online, saying individuals responsible for inaccurate and damaging statements may face legal consequences under applicable laws.
Management said it is currently reviewing possible legal actions, including the filing of criminal charges against those responsible for spreading alleged misinformation.
Despite the controversy, the management reiterated its commitment to improving its services and ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for visitors to the popular Bohol tourist destination.
