CEBU CITY — A 21-year-old student from Bohol who had been missing for more than a week in Cebu City has been found safe.

Jannah Balag Sarabosing, a second-year BS Social Work student of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), was located on Saturday morning, March 14, after losing contact with her family earlier this month.

The development was confirmed by the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Supreme Student Government, which thanked those who helped spread information about her disappearance.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who helped spread the information, shared the posts, offered assistance, and kept Jannah in their prayers during this difficult time. Your support, concern, and unity truly made a difference in bringing her home safely,” the student government said in a statement.

It added that the incident underscores the importance of community vigilance and solidarity, especially as the country observes Women’s Month.

“As we continue to observe Women’s Month, this moment reminds us of the importance of looking out for one another and ensuring the safety, dignity, and protection of every woman in our community. When people come together with compassion and solidarity, hope becomes stronger,” it said.

Sarabosing was last able to speak with her family on March 2 and completely lost contact starting March 3.

According to her mother, Divina Sarabosing, the student called her while crying and said she did not know where she had been during the past several days.

They later met at Pier 1 in Cebu City, where her mother noticed that the young woman had become very thin and appeared disoriented.

Sarabosing is now safe and currently resting in Ubay, Bohol.
