SEVILLA, Bohol — A barangay councilor has filed complaints after allegedly being beaten by four police officers, including the station chief, during a buy-bust operation in Purok 5, Lower La Suerte, Brgy. Guinob-an on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Eric Gumanoy of Brgy. Ewon sustained 12 injuries, including a broken finger and severe bruising on his chest that may indicate a cracked rib, according to a medical certificate issued by the Municipal Health Office – Sevilla.

Gumanoy identified the suspects as the Police Captain, two Police Master Sergeants, and a Patrolman, with CCTV footage reportedly capturing the incident.

The councilor has submitted evidence to the Provincial Internal Affairs Service (PIAS) at Camp Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City and is being assisted by a lawyer to file both administrative and criminal charges.

The administrative case will be handled by PIAS, while the criminal complaint will be filed with the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

The filings are expected next week. The Sevilla Municipal Police Station has yet to issue an official statement.
