TAGBILARAN CITY — Police have arrested the suspect allegedly responsible for the brutal killing of a member of the LGBTQ+ community in Barangay Mansasa, this city.
The suspect was identified as Alphie Inting, 27, a resident of Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City. He was arrested at around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday in Poblacion 1, Tagbilaran City, following a swift police operation.
Inting is reportedly the partner of the victim, Elbron Blazo, 38, a resident of Dauis, Bohol.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station and will face a charge of murder, authorities said. Police also disclosed that Inting has prior records involving Acts of Lasciviousness and violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Blazo was found dead near Bolok-bolok Spring on February 3. Investigators said the victim sustained 36 stab wounds, mostly on the front of his body, including injuries to the head, back, and hands—indicating that he attempted to fight back and defend himself.
Aside from the killing, authorities said the suspect also took the victim’s belongings, including a gray TVS scooter, cash, and a cellphone.
Police added that Blazo had informed his family on the evening of February 2 that he was going out, but he never returned home.
The investigation is ongoing.
