TAGBILARAN CITY — Several mayors from Bohol’s 3rd District on Friday simultaneously took to Facebook to express their gratitude and support for Third District Representative Alexie Besas-Tutor amid allegations of “project insertion” linked to the so-called “Cabral files.”
Tutor has been alleged as the top official listed in the controversial documents, reportedly with the largest amount of sponsored projects valued at around P2.7 billion.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Loay Mayor Hilario Ayuban addressed his message directly to the people of Loay, highlighting what he described as the numerous infrastructure and development projects brought to the municipality through the efforts of Tutor.
Ayuban underscored that these projects responded to long-standing needs of the town and benefited ordinary Loayaonons.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Bilar Mayor Norman Palacio, Sevilla Mayor Junin Caberte, and Lila Mayor Jed Piollo, who also posted statements acknowledging Tutor’s assistance to their respective municipalities.
The mayors cited improvements in local infrastructure and public services, attributing these gains to the congresswoman’s support and coordination with national agencies.
The statements appeared to counter allegations tied to the “Cabral files,” documents reportedly turned over by the late former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Catalina Cabral to Batangas Congressman Leandro Leviste prior to her death. The files are claimed to contain a list of legislators and other government officials who allegedly had projects allocated from the DPWH budget.
As of posting time, Tutor has yet to issue a detailed public response addressing the specific allegations, but the coordinated show of support from 3rd District local executives highlights the political backing she continues to enjoy within the district amid the controversy.
