TAGBILARAN CITY — Police arrested a suspected drug personality and confiscated more than P2.5 million worth of suspected shabu during a successful buy-bust operation conducted at midday on December 19, 2025, in Purok 8, Barangay Bool, this city.
The suspect was identified as Joseph Morgia, 41, a native of Maribojoc who is currently residing in Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City.
The operation, carried out at around 12:40 p.m., was led by the City Drug Enforcement Team (CDET) of the Tagbilaran City Police Station under the supervision of Lt. Col. John Kareen Escober, chief of police, and led on the ground by Lt. Greg Reyes.
Seized from the suspect were approximately 375 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P2,550,000.
Morgia is now in police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities are also conducting further investigation to determine possible links to a wider illegal drug network.
Meanwhile, Police Colonel Patricio Degay Jr., Bohol Provincial Director, commended the sustained efforts of PNP Bohol, citing the series of successful anti-illegal drug operations across the province. He noted, however, that the latest bust underscores the continuing threat posed by illegal drugs.
“This only proves that despite our accomplishments, illegal drugs have not yet been fully eradicated. We remain relentless in this fight,” Degay said.
