Consul General Matsuo visits Japanese electronics manufacturer in Lapu-Lapu City

LAPU-LAPU CITY-  Consul General Hideaki Matsuo paid a visit to Taiyo Yuden Philippines, Inc., a Japanese electronics manufacturing company located in Lapu-Lapu City.

Established in 1988, Taiyo Yuden operates three production facilities within MEZ1 (Mactan Economic Zone 1) and CLIP (Cebu Light Industrial Park). The company specializes in producing inductors, a type of microchip essential for stabilizing electric current and managing energy consumption in devices such as high-performance smartphones and other electronic equipment.

With a workforce of around 4,500 local employees, Taiyo Yuden Philippines has grown into one of the region’s leading Japanese manufacturers, playing a significant role in boosting local employment and contributing to the economic growth of Cebu.

The visit highlighted the enduring economic partnership between Japan and the Philippines, as well as the importance of Japanese investments in regional industrial development.
