TAGBILARAN CITY — Holy Name University and Mayuga National High School–Guindulman emerged as the grand champions of the First Tagbilaran Christmas Drum and Lyre Competition 2025, which showcased the musical talent and festive spirit of participating schools across Bohol.
In the minor awards, Holy Name University dominated Category A, winning Best Band Majorette and Best Band Leader. For Category B, both awards went to Oy National High School of Loboc, underscoring the school’s strong performance in leadership and presentation.

2nd Place: DCPNHS — P60,000
3rd Place: Manga National High School — P45,000
Category B
1st Place: Mayuga National High School–Guindulman — P90,000
2nd Place: Oy National High School, Loboc — P60,000
3rd Place: Fermin Tayabas National High School — P45,000
Organizers hailed the inaugural competition as a success, noting the high level of musicianship, choreography, and Christmas-themed performances. The event is expected to become an annual highlight of Tagbilaran City’s holiday celebrations, promoting youth participation, school pride, and cultural expression through music and movement.
