P800k worth of shabu seized from Army Reservist, waitress in Sierra Bullones buy-bust

SIERRA BULLONES, Bohol — Police seized shabu worth more than P800,000 from an Army reservist and a waitress during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in Sierra Bullones on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The suspects were identified as Michelle Salduan, 27, single, a waitress and resident of Upper Cabus, Barangay Bicao, Carmen town; and Maximo Pequit Jr., 33, married, a member of the Philippine Army Reserve and a resident of Barangay Buenavista, Carmen.

The operation was led by Police Lieutenant Noubell Padernal after authorities received information that Salduan was allegedly engaged in the sale of illegal drugs. Salduan and Pequit were reportedly aboard a motorcycle at the time of the transaction.

Under the supervision of Lt. Col. Jomar Pomarejos, operatives carried out the buy-bust, which was witnessed by Barangay Kagawads Diodado Peligro and Oliver Butron.

Recovered from the suspects were eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 123.6 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P840,480. Police also confiscated from Pequit a .45 caliber pistol loaded with five live rounds of ammunition.

The suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, as well as illegal possession of firearms.
