Strengthening MSMEs: Abante Negosyo Caravan holds 2025 review, sets plans for 2026

The provincial government of Bohol, through the Bohol Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (Bedipo) gathered partner agencies on Wednesday, November 26, for the Abante Negosyo Caravan 2025 Year-End Assessment and 2026 Planning Session at Passiflora Café, Capitol Branch.

Represented at the meeting were the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund), and the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp).

Ma. Fe Dominise, head of Bedipo, highlighted Bedipo’s beginnings in 2009 under the late Gov. Erico Aumentado and underscored the BOSS (Business One-Stop Shop) Abante Caravan’s role in bringing government services closer to entrepreneurs. She noted Bohol’s transformation from one of the poorest provinces in 2010 to one of the most improved today.

Executive Assistant Pableo “Bebot” Sumampong, speaking for Gov. Aris Aumentado, emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the BOSS Caravan.

DTI Provincial Director Vierna Chiu-Ligan presented the MSME Development Plan 2023–2028, while DICT Bohol Provincial Officer Victor Magallares discussed digitalization and innovation. SBCorp representative Francisco Buenavidez, the newest partner in the convergence group, outlined the agency’s financing and support programs for MSMEs.

Bedipo Marketing Specialist Ligaya Castillo presented the 2025 BOSS Caravan Report, which recorded 1,162 clients served across deployments in the Capitol Lobby and the towns of Pitogo, Sikatuna, Clarin, and Bilar. Feedback gathered throughout the year will guide the 2026 rollout.

Participating agencies reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening MSME support and sustaining accessible government services for Boholanos.

The provincial government and its convergence partners aim to further expand the Abante Negosyo Caravan in 2026 as part of Bohol’s push for inclusive and sustainable development as the country’s first and only Unesco Global Geopark.
