TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol is strengthening its regulation of tour packages to prevent overpricing, curb unregistered operators, and safeguard major tourism sites across the province.
During the November 21, 2025 episode of The Capitol Reports, tourism and environment officials outlined measures to standardize pricing and strengthen enforcement across major destinations. The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) highlighted the rollout of updated tariff guides and the promotion of accredited tour operators through official tourism platforms to help visitors avoid unauthorized services.
Stakeholders in Panglao have also implemented clearer transport tariffs, with hotels posting updated rates to deter overcharging in high-traffic areas like Alona Beach. Local officials assured continued monitoring and coordination with provincial agencies to ensure compliance.
Accredited travel operators noted that package rates vary based on group size, transport needs and itineraries, and stressed that guided tours help visitors access affordable and legitimate services, including dining options.
Environmental authorities reported progress on the Napaling Reef coral vandalism case, where a portion of the reef remains cordoned off for rehabilitation. Recommendations include stricter enforcement and regular briefings for dive shops to prevent further damage.
Bohol’s enhanced regulatory push forms part of a broader strategy to protect tourism assets, promote fair pricing, and ensure a safer, more reliable experience for visitors.
