“Don’t be greedy. Just be contended and be happy of what you have.”
Police Col. Osmundo Salibo, provincial director of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), has reminded police officers to be of good examples to ensure good leadership by example during the “Talakayan sa Isyung Pulis (TSIP)” held in Carmen town on Thursday, Nov. 11.
Rookie cops taint the image of the PNP as he lamented how cops are often being branded as “pulis patola” or “kotong cops” because of the “few bad eggs” who compromise the nobility of the organization.
Salibo also reminded police officers to remain non-partisan as the mid-term elections near.
“Hindi maiwasan na may mga relative na mga pulitiko. They must not get involve in partisan politics. We don’t meddle with the political affairs of anybody or in any locality for that matter,” he said.
“Express ang support natin sa balota nalang,” he added.
The TSIP was revived by BPPO after it went on hiatus for almost three years. The first TSIP this year was attended by Salibo and chiefs of police from the third district of Bohol.
TSIP helps to increase awareness of the public and claimholders about the acitivities and programs of the PNP.
Some Bohol media took turns in asking issues about police matters.
During the TSIP, the chiefs of police in Alicia and Carmen reported around 13,958 community quarantine violators from Jan. to Nov. 10.
In Carmen, a total of 6,075 people were caught for violation of the implementation of the community quarantine. There were1,134 individuals who were apprehended for not wearing face masks.
In Alicia town, 7,883 quarantine violators caught. There were 2, 105 violators caught for not wearing face mask, 1,600 for social distancing and 380 for no face shields.
Salibo also encouraged police to help in vaccination.
“Maraming pamahiin eh. I- encourage natin ang mga tao na magpabakuna para tumaas ang vaccination rate natin,” Salibo said.
