BOHOL — Typhoon Tino has claimed its first casualty in the province, a barangay tanod from the town of Panglao, according to Anthony Damalerio, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

The 52-year-old barangay barangay tanod (watchman) in Barangay Danao died after being struck by a tree he was cutting. His foot got entangled in a cadena de amor vine as he tried to move to safety, causing the coconut tree he was felling to fall on him. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Damalerio also reported that as of 1 a.m. on November 4, 2025, a total of 43,303 families have been evacuated across Bohol as heavy rains and strong winds continue to batter the province.

Authorities remind residents to stay alert, follow official advisories, and coordinate with their local DRRMOs for updates and assistance.
