A “ripa” reseller, believed to be involved in a scam that milked millions of pesos from its victims, was arrested in an entrapment operation in Tagbilaran City on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021.
The operation was launched by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bohol.
The NBI said “Maria” (real name withtheld) was still selling “ripa” slots to buyers on Saturday afternoon along J. A. Clarin Street.
She has even complaints from her buyers filed at NBI.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of the NBI and will be facing charges for violation of the SEC Code and other appropriate laws.
The “ripa” scam took millions of pesos from unsuspecting victims in Bohol lately.
BIN decided to withhold the name of the arrested pending the filing of formal charges.
