Kalag-Kalag 2023 in Tagbilaran City saw around 15,000 people visiting their departed loved ones at Victoria Memorial Park (ViMPark) on Wednesday, November 1.

Aurelio “Ondoy” Gahit, caretaker of ViMPark, said that at least 15,000 people flocked to the cemetery at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

He believed that the majority of people visited during the evening to avoid the scorching heat of the sun.

They stayed at the graves and mausoleums of their loved ones.

They went home past 9 p. m. since it was prohibited to stay overnight.

Gahit added that the Kalag-Kalag situation remains to be peaceful and orderly. No prohibited items were also confiscated.

Police and personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) were at the site.

Police said there were no major incidents recorded in the city.
