CORTES, BOHOL – The Governor Celestino Gallares Multi-Specialty Medical Center (GCGMSMC), a state-of-the-art hospital located in Cortes town, held its soft launching on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Governor Aris Aumentado led the inspection of the hospital’s facilities, highlighting its modern equipment and specialized services. He said the hospital is Bohol’s answer to urgent and advanced medical needs, sparing patients from having to travel to Cebu or Manila for specialized care such as cardiology and other critical services.
The event was graced by Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Dr. Mary Ann Palermo Maestral, Governor Aris Aumentado, 1st District Rep. Baba Yap, DOH-7 Regional Director Dr. Joshua Brillantes, Dr. Lawrence Eliot Tirol, Chief of Hospital, and former Rep. Edgar Chatto.
Officials expressed optimism that the new medical center will bring accessible, high-quality healthcare closer to Boholanos and strengthen the province’s health system.
