Vaccination for senior citizens or those who belong to the A2 priority group in Central Visayas will begin on the first or second week of this month.

Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD 7), said in her daily briefing last Wednesday (March 31, 2021) that they will also include those in the A3 subgroup or those individuals with comorbidities.

In the initial figures released by DOH-CHD 7 last March 29, they said there are already 771,468 senior citizens who belong to the eligible population that may receive the vaccines.

Of the number, 463,478 are from Cebu, 148,855 for Bohol, 140,058 for Negros Oriental, and 13,077 for Siquijor.

Loreche said the numbers are likely to go up since they are yet to receive the final masterlist.

The local government units were given until tomorrow, April 5 to provide the complete masterlist.

In Metro Manila, inoculation for senior citizens and those with comorbidities have already begun.
