JAGNA, BOHOL — Heavy rains triggered a landslide along the highway in Barangay Ipil on Monday morning, September 8, 2025, leaving a house on the brink of collapse and briefly cutting off power and internet services in the area.
The incident, which occurred past 7 a.m., sent soil and rocks tumbling onto the roadside, toppling a utility pole and dragging down cables.
One motorist was nearly struck by falling debris, sustaining only minor injuries.
Barangay Captain Elizabeth Macaranas said the saturated soil gave way after hours of continuous rainfall.
Crews from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 3rd District Engineering Office were immediately dispatched to clear the road and restore utilities.
Local officials have urged residents to remain cautious as rains continue and the risk of further landslides remains.
