JAGNA, BOHOL — A landslide struck along the provincial road in Barangay Cambugason, Jagna town on Sunday, August 31, 2025, uprooting trees that blocked the road and triggered a power interruption in the area.
According to local authorities, clearing operations are now underway through the combined efforts of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), JEMRU responders, and Bohol Electric Cooperative II (Boheco II) personnel.
The Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) is set to deploy heavy equipment to remove the remaining debris still covering part of the road. As of reporting time, the road is already passable on a single lane, but motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when traversing the affected site.
Further updates will be provided once the road is fully cleared and declared safe for all motorists.
Meanwhile, due to the prevailing weather conditions, the municipal government of Jagna announced the suspension of classes at all levels on Monday.
The suspension was issued following PAGASA’s bulletin placing Bohol under a moderate general flood advisory until 5:47 a.m. of September 1.
Morning and afternoon classes are both suspended, with the local government set to reassess conditions by 10:30 a.m. to determine if further suspensions are necessary as heavy rains and flooding remain a threat.
Authorities reminded residents to remain alert and to monitor official advisories for further updates.
