GUINDULMAN, BOHOL – A police officer who recently went viral for allegedly harassing a foreign national in this town has been arrested again, this time for robbery and a shooting incident.
Patrolman Marcelo “Seloy” Olaer of the Guindulman Municipal Police Station was arrested at dawn on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, after allegedly grabbing a firearm from a security guard and firing shots the previous night in Barangay Guinacot, Guindulman. Authorities recovered a 9mm pistol, a 9mm Luger KG9, and several rounds of ammunition from him.
Police said Olaer fired at a house, killing the residents’ pet dog and injuring a 24-year-old man.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Guindulman police while complaints for Robbery, Frustrated Murder, violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and Violation of Domicile are being prepared against him.
Kenny Foster, and his wife were allegedly harassed by Olaer at the town’s public market on Monday, Aug. 11.
Foster said the officer—later confirmed by other policemen to be drunk—flagged him down, tried to push him off his motorcycle, grabbed his gun, hurled expletives including “F*** America,” and kicked his bike. He also allegedly threatened to fight both him and his wife, who was carrying their five-month-old baby.
Foster claimed the officer punched him, shoved him, and attempted to hit his wife. Responding policemen reportedly told them to avoid the area until the officer left, rather than detain him.
