In a heartfelt ceremony held today, the 80th unit of the “Libreng Alagad ug Balay” (LAB) project—also known as the House of Hope—was officially turned over to beneficiary Bernardita Satulombon in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Batuan, Bohol.

The initiative is part of a continuing effort to uplift the lives of indigent families by providing them with free, decent housing.

The project is spearheaded by the Bohol Police Provincial Office, with the full support of the Provincial Government of Bohol under the leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado, 2nd district Representative Vanessa “Vanvan” Aumentado, and Mayor Maxwell Tumanda of Batuan.

Gov. Aumentado led the turnover ceremony with Lt. Col. Norman Nuez, chief of the Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU), and officials from the Municipality of Batuan led by SB Member Joel Daquis. Also present were Batuan Police Chief Capt. Victor Tagsa, Jr., barangay officials from Sta. Cruz and Vieja, the SPAG Batuan Chapter led by Michael Dumali, and local religious leaders.

The new home symbolizes a collaborative achievement involving the police force, local government units, and community organizations—all working together to offer lasting solutions to housing challenges.

“This home is not only a roof over one’s head, but also a foundation of hope,” said one of the project partners. “It represents the strength of unity and compassion in building a better future for every Boholano in need.”

The LAB project continues to serve as a model of inclusive, community-based support, aiming to bring positive change to the lives of more families in the province.
