TAGBILARAN CITY– Bohol’s population has continued to grow, reaching 1,412,726 as of July 1, 2024, according to the latest census conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). This marks an increase of over 18,000 people from the 2020 census figure of 1,394,329.
Leading the province in population are three major localities. Tagbilaran City remains the most populated area with 106,120 residents, followed by Ubay with 82,179, and Talibon with 71,450.
These densely populated areas highlight the increasing demand for public services, infrastructure, housing, and economic opportunities.
Local officials are expected to address these growing needs through strategic planning and development.
Meanwhile, Sikatuna remains the least populated municipality in Bohol, with 7,031 residents as of July 2024. Despite its small size, Sikatuna’s close proximity to the capital makes it a unique community in terms of accessibility and potential for growth.
The PSA’s latest figures provide essential data for planning and policy-making, ensuring that resources and development initiatives are aligned with population trends across the province.
