TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — A man who reportedly set himself on fire in Barangay Aglayan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon has been identified as a 23-year-old student from Ubay, Bohol.
The victim was identified as Christian Anthony Boiser Villaser, a mechanical engineering student at Central Mindanao University (CMU) in Bukidnon. He was a native of Ubay town, Bohol.
Malaybalay City Police Station confirmed that initial findings suggest the man burned himself to death on Tuesday, July 22. He was found lifeless at the scene, with his body severely burned.
Authorities in Ubay, Bohol, meanwhile, said they have not yet received any official report regarding the incident, nor has any family member approached the local police.
The motive behind the apparent self-immolation is still under investigation.
Police have yet to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
