PANGLAO, BOHOL — Police Regional Office 7 chief Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan has turned over the investigation of the recent commotion inside a fast food restaurant in Panglao to the Bohol Provincial Police Office.

Maranan said he had reviewed the video footage of the incident and noted that responding officers appeared to have followed standard operating procedures (SOP) in handling the situation.

The incident, which occurred at a Jollibee branch in Tawala, Panglao, involved a man who reportedly suffered a mental breakdown and began causing a disturbance inside the establishment.

According to the Panglao Municipal Police Station, the man entered the fast food outlet unprovoked and started acting aggressively, prompting an alarm from staff and customers.

Members of the Tourist Police immediately responded, subdued the individual, and brought him into custody at the Panglao Police Station.

Authorities have not released the man’s identity, but say further evaluation and appropriate action will follow pending investigation.
