TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — A man suspected of breaking into a residence in Barangay Booy and stealing a large amount of cash and jewelry has been arrested, police said.
According to the victims, a married couple, they had just returned home from a trip when they discovered their sliding door forcibly opened. Upon reviewing their home’s CCTV footage, they saw an unidentified man entering their house and stealing valuables.
The suspect reportedly took P50,000 in cash and several pieces of jewelry, including gold rings, a necklace with a pendant, and a diamond ring.
The Theft and Robbery Section of the Tagbilaran City Police Station immediately conducted an investigation, leading to the identification of the suspect as Jesus Andal Jr., 48, a single man and resident of Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City.
Andal was later arrested, and police were able to recover P33,000 in cash along with the stolen jewelry, which the victims positively identified as theirs.
Police have prepared a case of robbery with force upon things against Andal, who is now in police custody awaiting formal charges.
