Milka Romero, the first nominee of 1Pacman partylist, said that the Saulog Tagbilaran celebration is more than a festival.
“This event is indeed more than just a festival, it is a reflecrtiob of the people of Tagbilaran,” said Romero, owner of Capital1 Solar Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and CEO of the Miro Group.
“Saulog symbolizes resilience, progress and unwavering spirit of Tagbilaran. And the values that continue to inspire the spirit Saulog festival,” she said.
Romero was the guest of honor during the opening of the Saulog Tagbilaran Festival 2025 on Sunday, March 16, in time for the 460th Sandugo (blood compact).
Also present during the event were Msgr. Jeff Malanog of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, Tagbilaran Mayor Jane Yap, Vice Mayor Adam Jala, and city and village officials.
Major events include the Saulog Tagbilaran Interschool Quiz Bee Competition on March 22, 2025, Saulog Tagbilaran Sports Opening Ceremony on March 23, 2025, Mutya sa Tagbilaran on April 23, 2025, Saulog Festival King and Queen on April 25, 2025, Saulog Street Dancing Competition and Parade on April 27, 2025, DuEkSam Night on May 1, 2025, and Maoy sa Mayo Saulog Concert on May 4, 2025.
Regular Saulog activities that the public has come to love will also be held, including the Saulog Tagbilaran Bazaar and Nightly Entertainment from April 11 to May 3, 2025, at the City Hall Grounds, Kumbira sa Tagbilaran on April 21, 2025, at the City Central Market, Himog Huni Original Songwriting Competition on April 28, 2025, at Island City Mall, and the St. Joseph the Worker Fluvial Parade on April 29, 2025.
