The Tagbilaran City Police has dismissed the circulating rumor about a white van allegedly abducting a child near Caingget Beach.
Tagbilaran Chief of Police Lt. Col. John Kareen Escober said the recent claim was baseless.
“So far walay insidente nahitabo sukwahi sa gipost sa Facebook,” said Escober over station dyRD on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.
He said there had been no formal reports on kidnappings involving a white van. But he reassured the public that the police were staying vigilant.
In an investigation conducted by Barangay Booy, Captain Jun Telmo said
that they had not received any report of missing children.
Although the CCTV footage showed a mini-van and tricab were in the area, there was no scene that a child was kidnapped.
However, Telmo said there would also be nothing wrong if the public would think one step ahead of being careful.
