The province of Bohol received its first international cruise ship this year with the arrival of MS Europa 2 Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.
Around 455 mostly guests and 371 crew members were welcomed with a cultural festival showcasing traditional Filipino dances upon the ship’s arrival at the Tagbilaran City seaport.
The guests explored Bohol’s renowned countryside attractions such as the centuries-old churches, world-famous Chocolate Hills, Loboc River Cruise, and white sand beaches in Panglao.
Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado said the arrival of the cruise ship would have an impact on the island’s tourism industry.
Bohol has been named by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as its first and only global geopark in the Philippines.
“We hope you have a memorable experience exploring our breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and the unparalleled hospitality of the Boholano people,” he said.
He added, “Thank you for choosing our province as one of your destinations. We take great pride in showcasing the beauty and charm of the Bohol Island Geopark.”
