Police investigate shooting incident in Panglao town that killed woman

Panglao Police are investigating a shooting that injured a woman on Monday, Jan. 6.

A statement from Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Wednesday, it said that the incident occurred at 7:45 p. m. in Purok 4, Sunrise-Tawala, Panglao town.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered the lifeless body of 58-year-old female victim, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim stepped out of her rented room to address two unidentified individuals inquiring about her son when the tragic shooting occurred.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects fleeing the scene on a black Honda XRM motorcycle. One suspect was described as wearing a red helmet and a pink jacket.

Police Captain Ranulfo Asilo, chief of Panglao police, immediately implemented Oplan Sumpo Krimen where checkpoints were held.

Col. Arnel Banzon, provincial director of BPPO, directed the personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU) to assist the Panglao Police Station in solving the case.”

The Crime Scene Investigation was also conducted by Panglao Police Station and SOCO Team from Bohol Provincial Forensic Unit.
