The local government of Panglao has issued an order for stricter implementation of curfew hours for minors as part of the preventive measures against crimes and for the safety and well-being of minors.
As to ensure safety of the residents, Panglao mayor Edgardo “Boy” Arcay issued on Thursday, Jan. 2, Executive Order (EO) No. 1, Series of 2025, which mandates for the strict implementation of
Municipal Ordinance No. 8 series of 1993 and Municipal Ordinance No. 9 series of 2020 provide the strict enforcement of 9 p. m. to 4 a.m. disciplinary hours for minors.
Minors may be exempt from curfew hours under the following circumstances such as legitimate errands, school activities, minors accompanied by parents or guardian, and emergencies or other compelling reasons as determined by law enforcement.
The curfew shall not not apply during Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Holy Week and other significant celebrations determined by the Sangguniang Kabataan.
Exception will be determined on an individual basis. Minors with errands or activities that extends beyond curfew hours must secure a curfew pass duly signed by the mayor and Panglao chief of police.
Meanwhile, Arcay already requested the Philippine National Police for more police visibility in the town to further ensure public safety, order, and security.
