Rep. Kristine Alexie Besas- Tutor of Bohol third district has urged everyone to report to her office any receipt of two benefits, like Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (Aics) and Ayuda sa Kapos Ang Kita Program (Akap), at the same time since this is not allowed by law.
“DSWD ang mag validate. Mohatag sila sa final list. Ma DQ ka ug naka dawat ka ug AICS/AKAP sa mga miaging buwan,” she said in her facebook post lately. (One will be disqualified receiving benefits if he/she had already receive one. It is the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that will validate the final list).
Aics is a social safety net program, while Akap is a cash aid program for minimum wage workers— both run by DSWD.
The warning came after reports that there are beneficiaries who take advantage of the “ayuda” scheme pushed by the national government apparently to help those being marginalized.
Meanwhile, she announced this time Akap Pay-Out Part II for barangay tanods.
She said that Barangay Livestock Aides (Bala) and Lupon ng Barangay members are included in the Akap payout as approved by the DSWD. This will resume next year and she requested this be happened sometime in January 2025.
She also entertained the query where to inquire list of the beneficiaries at the DSWD. The said list comes from the local government unit concerned. And the DSWD will be the one to validate it and provides the final list.
She announced that some 247 beneficiaries of Duero received the “ayuda” dring the payout held at barangay Mawi on Nov. 29. And another 450 recipients from Guindulman and Anda towns on same day held at barangay Tabajan covered court.
At 10 a.m. of the same day, 645 beneficiaries from Mabini and Candijay towns received the aid during the disbursement at Mabini gym and 726 recipients from the towns of Batuan, Bilar, Sevilla and Loboc held at Bilar gym in the afternoon. (rvo)
