Atty. Jordan Pizarras, a seasoned lawyer and staunch advocate for justice, officially filed his candidacy on Saturday, Oct. 5 as the 1st District Representative of the province of Bohol.
“Ako ang inyong Tigpanalipud”—“I am your defender, ” said Pizarras after filing his candidacy.
He running under the Aksyon Demokratiko party founded by the late Senator Raul Roco whose wife, Sonia, hailed from Bilar town, Bohol.
With a career spanning over two decades in the legal field, Pizarras vows to bring transformative change to the district, particularly for the marginalized sector.
His decision to run stems from witnessing the injustices faced by the underprivileged in Bohol.
“Justice should not only be for the rich, but for everyone, regardless of economic status,” he emphasized.
Throughout his legal career, Pizarras has successfully represented top corporations, defended landmark cases in the Supreme Court, and worked on pro-bono cases for NGOs, religious groups, and the disenfranchised.
His career highlights include quashing billion-peso tax claims, winning environmental cases under the Writ of Kalikasan including the case against the Barangay Officials of Bil-isan, Panglao, and securing favorable rulings in corporate disputes. His work reflects a commitment to both corporate and social justice.
Driven by a strong sense of public service, Pizarras’ platform addresses several critical needs of Bohol’s 1st District ensuring cheap and reliable electricity to eliminate brownouts, providing accessible and clean water for all residents, promoting affordable food prices, particularly for fish and meat, expanding livelihood programs for women, increasing benefits for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), offering scholarships and athletic programs for the youth, creating more job opportunities within the district.
“I am deeply committed to improving the quality of life for every Boholano in the 1st District,” said Pizarras. “We deserve better access to essential services, more opportunities for our youth, and stronger support for our women, senior citizens, and PWDs.”
Pizzaras pledged to be a champion for the marginalized, ensuring that justice, fairness, and equality reach all sectors of society. His candidacy represents a commitment to practical solutions and a brighter future for Bohol.
