Tagbilaran City chosen to be next ‘digital cities’ by 2025

Tagbilaran City is one of the newly proclaimed Digital Cities 2025.

According to Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT),
with their potentials to become the next IT hubs of the country, these cities will receive support and development in the next few years to promote ICT Industry Development in their areas.

Dubbed “Digital Cities 2025: A Brighter Future Awaits in the Countryside,” the program was created through a partnership between the DICT, the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), and Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC).

Tagbilaran City, Bohol, in Region 7 and Tacloban City, Leyte, in Region 8 made it to the list. These cities are part of DICT Visayas Cluster 2.

These cities have the greatest potentials to join the ranks of and become a center of IT Industry excellence cities like Metro Cebu and Next-Wave cities like Dumaguete City.
